We had a wonderful time when the animals came to visit our school. Have a look at some of the photos from our morning.
Our Zoo-Lab Visit
We have just had a super exciting morning in Yellow Class. Chloe came to visit us from Zoo-lab and she brought along some friends ...
We met and held Gary the Madagascan Hissing Cockroach, Charlotte the Chillian Rose Tarantula, Barry the Giant African Millipede, Speedy and Pipsqueak the Giant African Land Snails and Pearl the American Corn Snake. We learnt a lot of important information about what they eat and where they live. We also learnt how to handle them safely and with care. Even Mr Redgrave got in on the action!!
It's just the beginning of our minibeasts topic and we've already found out so much!
Growing and Changing
We have begun a new topic this term and on Monday morning we all went on a 'Signs of Spring Walk' around out grounds with Simon. We saw lots of new plants growing and lots of minibeasts too ...
Then we visited the allotment and, in pairs, Simon taught us how to plant a sunflower seed. What do you think a plant needs to grow? When we returned to the classroom we wrote some instructions of our own on how to plant a sunflower seed and we listed all of the things a seed needs to grow.
We are going to look after our seeds and when they're strong enough Simon is going to help us plant them out around the school for everyone to enjoy!
We had a wonderful day celebrating 'World Book Day'. Have a look at our fantastic costumes.
We had great fun decorating our Gingerbread Men this afternoon and have taken them home before they run off again!
FANTASTIC NEWS!!!
Tim popped into Yellow Class this morning and ...
Our Gingerbread Men have been found!
Tim managed to catch all of the Gingerbread Men so we can get busy now and decorate them this afternoon - Hurray!!
OH NO!!! LOOK WHAT HAS HAPPENED ...
On Friday Yellow Class made 27 delicious Gingerbread Men. Miss Boyd uncovered them this morning to have a look and ...
They had disappeared!
Some of us thought that they had been eaten, stolen and that they had simply run away! We decided to go out and look - in the snow ...
Sadly, we were unable to find them so we had to think of something else. Henry suggested that we made some 'Missing' posters ...
We only hope that our posters will help us find our missing Gingerbread.
Traditional Stories - Our Storytelling Castle
During the next half-term we are focusing on Traditional Stories. We will be busy rehearsing and learning new stories so that we can become amazing storytellers!
We are using our storytelling castle as a special place to share stories with our friends. Perhaps you could share your favourite fairytales and stories with your children at home too.
Our first story that we are learning to re-tell is 'The Gingerbread Man' ...
LOOK WHAT WE FOUND ON MONDAY MORNING!
Our Time Machine had only been in the classroom for two days when these footprints mysteriously appeared!
We were very brave and decided to go and look for more clues ...
So began our very exciting topic on DINOSAURS!
'People Who Help Us'
This week we have been finding out about 'People Who Help Us' outside school. We were lucky enough to have four different visitors who told us all about their jobs and even let us try on their uniforms.
First we had a visit from a doctor ...
then we had a physiotherapist join us ...
after that we talked to a police officer ...
and finally the fire service came. They even brought their fire engine with them, we had so much fun!
OH NO! Look at what has happened to Humpty Dumpty!
The children in Yellow Class were asked to attend a terrible accident last week. They had to think about might have happened to Humpty and who they could ask for help.
This was the start of our topic on People Who Help Us...
AlphablocksPlay along with the Alphablocks and have fun with the letters of the alphabet.
