Year 5

A new task for a new week...Please either write your continuation of the poem directly into your class Seesaw, or do it on paper (illustrate if you like!), and then take a photo of that to put onto Seesaw.

Well done to all in Year 5 who have done some Mathletics or

Spellodrome this week.

Unfortunately, we can see that quite a few of you haven't done

anything yet on those. It's really important that everyone in Year 5 keeps

on with their learning, even though you are no longer in school. We will be checking again on Monday. Please make sure that you try and catch up by

then if you need to. Just have a go!

Please log in to Seesaw whenever you can. You will discover that your teacher has given you a little task to do there! Your logon details were on the sheet that you took home with you on Friday. If you weren't in on Friday, then you should soon be receiving your details through the post.

Year 5, we were sad to say goodbye to you all on Friday, we hope you all stay safe and keep washing those hands.

While you are at home we would like you to carry out the following activities to ensure that you keep up with your studies ready for when we hopefully return to school:

  • Reading - please continue to read the books sent from school and any you might have at home. It is essential that reading skills continue whenever and wherever possible.

  • Mathletics/Spellodrome/Times Tables Rockstars - your usernames and passwords can be located in your Reading Record books. They will be updated on a regular basis. Please check in everyday to complete any set tasks as well as exploring any other additional activities these websites have to offer.

There are also a number of other activities below to do with the topics we have been learning about. Please have a go at these (although not all at once!). Our aim is to periodically add to and update these.

Below are couple of documents with some great suggestions for things you can do with your children while they are at home:

Here is a list (with explanations) of the Literacy terms we have been learning about in Year 5. Try and use some of these when you are writing in your red book.

New Curriculum Spelling Word List Year 5 and 6

The teachers have been working hard already in Year 5 to put up some lovely displays both in the classrooms and in the corridors. We have also some fabulous book corners with lovely new books, ready for the children to get reading.

Some more amazing displays in the Year 5 classrooms. Do you like our Year 5 christmas tree?
