3JL have been given some lovely brand new books.
In tables, we explored the books by looking at the titles, blurbs and illustrations. We then discussed what ones we were looking forward to reading and why. They are now in our reading garden ready to choose and enjoy.
Jessica said that 'Lucy the Secret Reindeer'looks like a great book and liked the front cover.
Charlie liked 'Harry the Poisonous Centipede Goes on a Big Adventure' because he has already read the yellow one and wants to find out what happens next.
Deniz wants to read 'How to train your Dragon' because he thinks it will be an exciting book and wants to find out more about how he can train a dragon!
Ava started to read the first two pages of 'Fortunately the Milk' and said that it seems good so far. She thinks it might become a magical story and predicted what might happen within it.
We have been writing and following instructions in Literacy.
We wrote our own instructions on how to make snow.
Then we followed another table's instructions and made our very own snow.
It was great fun and we wrote such clear instructions that each table made a successful batch of snow. We showed excellent team work and shared the responsibilities equally.
After drafting and working on our Christmas/Winter acrostic poems, we then wrote them up in neat for our display.
We then practiced and rehearsed our poems to our partners, using actions as well.
The poems we wrote were wonderful and the performances were extremely confident!
