We had great fun developing our sewing skills by planning and making our mums mobile phone pouches for Mother's Day.
We were very lucky to have Lizzy visit us. She is a qualified chef who visits schools so that children can learn about food and cooking. Lizzy helped us understand that we use all our senses to appreciate food, and not just our taste buds!
We then made a base for our lanterns. This had an electrical circuit with a switch in it so that we could turn our bulbs on and off. We finished our lanterns by sticking the base to the frame we made earlier.
Continuing our Lighting Up topic, we designed and then made our own winter lanterns - using our learning from Science about electricity to help us build our circuits.
To start off our 'Lighting Up' topic, we looked at various different lights and examined what the lights were made of and how they were powered. By looking at the design, we also thought about what type of person each light was made for.
