On Thursday 10th May a farm came to visit our school. We loved looking at all the animals. We met some calves, goats, lambs, pigs, and chickens. We all got to hold a little chick and stroke the farm dog. We learnt about what the animals can give us, and also what the names of the baby animals are. We thought it was funny that baby goats are called kids!
Some of us spotted something small, round and brown with a hard shell in the hen's coop! Can you guess what it was?
When we got back to the classroom, we had a go at ordering pictures of the chicken's life cycle, matching animals with their babies, and writing a recount about our farm experience.
We went on a walk on our school grounds, hunting for signs of Spring. Can you guess what we saw?
Then, in pairs we planted sunflower seeds. We have been learning about how to look after them to help them grow. We are being very patient while we wait to see what happens!
