Blue Class

Teddy Bears Picnic!

The children brought along their bears to a teddy bears picnic on the field. Earlier, we had made fruit kebabs and the bears helped to write out invitations.

A Farm came to visit our school!

On Thursday 10th May a farm came to visit our school. We loved looking at all the animals. We met some calves, goats, lambs, pigs, and chickens. We all got to hold a little chick and stroke the farm dog. We learnt about what the animals can give us, and also what the names of the baby animals are. We thought it was funny that baby goats are called kids!

Some of us spotted something small, round and brown with a hard shell in the hen's coop! Can you guess what it was?

When we got back to the classroom, we had a go at ordering pictures of the chicken's life cycle, matching animals with their babies, and writing a recount about our farm experience.

Spring has sprung for Blue Class!

We went on a walk on our school grounds, hunting for signs of Spring.  Can you guess what we saw?

Then, in pairs we planted sunflower seeds. We have been learning about how to look after them to help them grow. We are being very patient while we wait to see what happens!

Traditional Tales: Little Red Riding Hood

Here we are making our own Little Red Riding Hood story books, and playing a Little Red Riding Hood game.
Little Red Riding Hood came to visit Blue Class! She came and sat on the special chair and we asked her questions about things she did and saw in the story:

Blue class were very excited to experience the snow! There was a lot to learn about it whilst we had fun too!

These footprints appeared outside our classroom last week! Who could they belong to?

We have been learning all about dinosaurs. We sorted them them, read about them, and even got to be palaeontologists!

We learnt about 'People Who Help Us.' Blue class discovered that Humpty Dumpty had fallen off his wall! Who could help him?

This week we have had lots of exciting visitors - all 'people who help us': A doctor, a physiotherapist, a police officer, and the fire fighters, who also brought their fire engine!
