We hope this information will help to answer some of the questions we have been asked recently.
P.E. (for Autumn 1)
The children will be tested on their times tables each Friday. They will bring these tests home with them so they know which times table to learn for the next week.
Each child will have a red and blue times table book to complete at home. Please ask your child to complete the columns throughout the week. When they have checked their completed answers with you, please initial the page to say they have done this. The children should use the times table that they are learning for their test the following week. Each Friday, the class teachers will sign the page to say they have seen the book.
Thank you for making a great start with signing the reading diaries! Each week, we will encourage the children to read their book and sign their diary at least three times independently and twice with their adult.
Due to the need to quarantine books when they are returned to school, we are going to allow the children to change their reading books on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Every Friday, we will use Seesaw to set the spellings for the children. They will then have one week to learn these spellings, before being tested the following Friday. Please make sure that the children keep their blue spelling book in their book bag. Your child will be told if they are in group A, B or C.
It is school policy for the children to remove their earrings for P.E. lessons. We suggest removing them before coming to school on P.E. days, unless your child is able to take them out and put them back in independently (the class teacher/TA will not assist them). If your child’s ears have been pierced during the Summer holidays, then please send them in with tape to cover the studs. This is allowed to happen for 6 weeks after piercing.
Every child will be given their Mathletics and Times Table Rock Stars login details, to stick into their reading diary. We will also provide you with the login details for Seesaw. If you cannot find these details, then please contact the school office. We encourage the children to use Mathletics and TTRS as often as they can.
Thank you for your time and support with helping us establish a routine in Year Four.
