Measuring capacity using non standard units of measure.
We love to read. We looked at some non-fiction books and used them to create our own fact files. We're a very knowledgeable bunch!
In literacy we have been practicing our story writing. Together with Miss Brooks we made our very own class story. Take a read! We separated our stories into four main parts- character, setting, problem and solution.
We have been learning all about China in Geography and have been looking at measurement in Mathematics. We decided to weigh our own ingredients to make a delicious dish! YUMMM!
Mr Redgrave came to speak to us about how the rules at Marian Vian have changed over time. Miss Brooks and Mrs Smith are much nicer!
Collage
In science we have been learning about plants. This week we planted our own seeds and bulbs. Bushcraft leader Simon came to help.
World Book Day. Check out our costumes. Even our teachers got involved!
We had a visit from a toy company and got to make our own toys! Children in the Victorian Era played with toys like these.
Harvest Festival
In literacy this week we have been looking at verbs. A verb is an action word and we practiced acting out some verbs. Can you think of any?
School trip to Tesco. We got to look behind the scenes of our local supermarket to find out a little more about where our food comes from.
We designed, made and then evaluated our own fruit salads!
Our first few weeks of Year One! In maths we've been busy practicing forming number sentences using a numberline to help us. We also have been learning about healthy eating. We all helped make a delicious vegetable soup with Simon and used oil pastels to draw different fruits.
